Weekend (op) shopping

One of the most frustrating, yet exciting things about op-shopping is that you never know what you might find!

I set out yesterday with a list of items I was looking for. I came home with a bagful of clothes (no hand bags this time, promise!), but I found nothing on my list.

Perhaps my list was a little bit out there, but usually I can always find what I want. Apparently, a cape or capelet; patterned tights and/or skinny jeans/jeggings; some cool but flat ankle boots and a thick black (preferably woollen or cashmere) cardie was too much to ask for.

So if I didn’t find anything on my list, how on Earth did I end up with a bagful of stuff? Because I found a brand new Bardot blazer for $8 (Mecwa on Chapel Street), some pure silk tops (I’m a sucker for silk at the moment), a beautiful dress with images of horses on it… and my wardrobe needs another overhaul yet again.

The only capes and capelets I managed to find were faux fur ones at places like Shag (some divine vintage Chanel driving shoes are there at the moment if anyone is interested), or some rather pricey ones at Design-a-Space. I did like them, but can’t quite justify spending $175 on a cape – and that was on sale.

But I’ve saved the best until last. The op-shopping expedition was worthwhile in the end, because, my friends, I found these:

Not quite the flat ones I was looking for, but pretty, no?

I will continue in my hunt for the elusive cape. I’ll be travelling all over Melbourne on Tuesday, so who knows?
