A tiddly experience
I have seen many things at op-shops.
I have never before, however, witnessed a large group of volunteers getting sloshed. I won’t mention which op-shop it was, in case I get them into trouble.
I thought it was hilarious – when I first arrived at the store it had a sign up saying that it was closed, but would be re-opening at 1.30pm. I was a little confused, because my research had told me they would be open. When I returned just after 1.30pm, I soon discovered why! They had been for a boozy lunch!
That in itself is not the hilarious part. The funny part is that they were then taking it in turns to sneak back across the road for more drinkies. They were discussing their plans quite loudly in the store so I heard all about it.
Good on them, I say. Perhaps I’ll start volunteering there too.

I don’t think it’s funny! In fact, it’s very unprofessional, and I’m sure whatever charity they are representing would not think it funny either.

Yes, you are probably right – although it was a Friday afternoon, and it could have been some one’s birthday. As I said, I’ve never seen it happen before so I doubt it’s a regular occurrence!

Oh man that made me laugh! I’ve come across vollies complaining, laughing, trying on the goods and bragging about their husband’s viagra experiences – but never a bunch of them coming back from a boozy lunch. Love it!!!! xx
